Week 19 (May 6 th -12 th ): Service From Amy Johnson Crow -   Military service might be the first thing to come to mind with this week's prompt. However, you don't have to go that route. Any service station owners in the family tree? (I'm raising my hand on that one!) How about someone who served their church, school, or community? For this weeks theme of “ service ” I have decided to use an ancestor that served in the army and died in “ service ” for his county. This person is my 1 st cousin 3times removed James Lackey. James was born in Saintfield, Ireland in November 1892. His parents are not known, but I have found a possible record of a baptism with mother only listed, meaning father unknown and his mother would have been my 2nd great grandfathers sister. He moved from Ireland at some-point between his birth and the 1901 census over to West Rainton, Durham where he lived with his Uncle and Aunt, Robert & Mary Lackey, as he is listed on the 19...

How many people does this match on week 8???  NOT me that's for sure! DAY 50 - Tuesday 5th May 2020 This isn't technically true, I wasn't even awake at 9:30am, jut after as the school rang to make sure everything is ok and woke me up. B was up, but then he's always up between 6-7am! J and K didnt emerge until after lunchtime from their beds! Yes, we are on week 8 so parents evening is needed. I've passed on vital information - B is working really hard, he's doing more than others are doing. He turns up on time (sometimes before the teacher aka me even arrives). He's mastered making coffee, he loves the bouncy castle and trampoline. K has managed to get his work done on time, he has been late many days and the same excuse given of "i over-slept". He's quite happy playing on his laptop and killing monsters (thank god someone is killing them as i wouldnt want them getting us!) J has mastered the hibernation part of his animal manag...

Oh yes, I know the feeling well....  DAY 43821 (aka 43) Tuesday 28th April 2020 Yep this is life as we know it at the moment. Anything out of the ordinary every curtain in the street is twitching or they are all out in their gardens to see what is going on. This certainly is a strange time. Things haven't been too bad today, but even so I have decided that i no longer want to be an adult and i'm going into hiding under a blanket fort (possibly known as my bed!) The weather is horrid and wet so the kids can't even go outside to burn off excess energy. This also means we can't go out and put up flags and stuff ready for VE Day. The kitten is back to being possessed by the devil, the eldest is still learning about hibernation (known as sleeping!) B has done his school work and is bored and K has done his work and is killing zombies again. There's no news on when things are going to change yet. DAY 44 Wednesday 29th April 2020 OH yes i can defi...
