coronavirus (covid-19, CV19) we will survive this (or die trying to....) week 16

DAY 106 - Tuesday 30th June 2020 I bet this applies to many pets, as they have been over-    fed  during lock-down. Flame, my ginger cat is a tubby    thing, but she always has been. The vet has said she is just a big   cat, but it doesn't help that half the neighbours, the local shop and old peoples home all feed her. Oreo the boys Dad's cat is also big. He is part Tuxedo and part farm cat, so is a very big boy. He was put on a diet as i said he was getting fat - but that's because he's an indoor cat, was eating in the evening and then sleeping so not burning it off.  Last night was eventful to say the least! Me and K ended up at CV19 central - aka the local hospital! The one place we have managed to avoid over the past 15weeks. BUT due to the pain in his elbow getting worse and the fact it kept going cold and he has dropped things - i rang the NHS phoneline for advice. A nurse rang me back and asked questions and said a Dr would ring us. The Dr rang and said they need

52 ancestors Week 26 (June 24th -30th ): Middle

Week 26 (June 24th -30th ): "Middle" From Amy Johnson Crow : (It seems appropriate for being halfway through!) Middle names. Middle children. Middle of the country. How might you interpret "middle"? For this weeks theme of “ middle ” I have decided to go with my “ middle ” son Mackenzie. Although he was the biggest at birth of the 3 boys and was nick-named “tubby-boo” due to be very chunky, he lost this as he became a toddler and more active.  He is now one of the smallest in his year group at school and is quite small for his age. But this is due to an on-going heart and chest condition that he suffers from. When he was a baby and young boy his hair was really blonde (as a baby he had lots of hair but you couldn't see it unless you were up close to him) but as he’s got older his hair has got darker and much longer, it has always been curly though. Many “ middle ” children will say they don’t get as much attention as their siblings do, but I would say he po

This is soooo my house right now! DAY 99 - Tuesday 23rd June 2020 I would love to say that this is how i spent my day but no, i don't have the patience to do something like this, nor am I that bored. I haven't been well all day (or all of last night), within an hour or so of taking the meds (see yesterdays  post here ) i had major stomach cramps, was feeling and being sick, had an upset stomach and was sleeping on and off. I said it would happen. I rang the docs back and they have told me to stop taking them and have upped the dose of the ibuprofen i take as i am ok with them. I managed to get a loan to get a new Fridge-freezer and have ordered one, its a bit taller than the old one so we may struggle to get it in through the cut out of wall from house to what was the outside cupboard as there is no longer a door to the cupboard either! BUT this slightly bigger one was £30 cheaper than the smaller one - where is the logic in that??? I have no idea. It won't be here until Th

52 ancestors Week 25 (June 17th -23rd ): Unexpected

Image
From Amy Johnson Crow - There can be all kinds of unexpected discoveries when we research our family history. What have you found that was unexpected? Have you found anything in an unexpected source? What about an ancestor who experienced something unexpected? So, we have got to week 25, almost half way through the year of stories on my family. I had pondered this from day 1 when I saw the list of titles and to be honest had not idea of what I could add that was “ unexpected ”. Did I go the route of things I had done in the tree, things that I had found out or something else linked to the title, no. Nothing or no-one jumped out at me. That was until I found the 1939 census for my great grandparents and saw something “ unexpected ” on it. If you take a look at the image below you may not see anything wrong with it, I certainly didn’t upon 1 st glance. It was only as I went back to the tree did I notice the name of the 3 rd person wasn’t their daughter Dora. The census image defini

BUT they also became extinct as couldnt wash its hands!!! DAY 92 - Tuesday 16th June 2020 This pic is quite apt for today as the boys godmother rang    me she has had enough of lockdown, trying to home school her 2 children, the youngest whose 9 is not interested in the sligthest in work and wont do anything, she was beside herself over it. I told her get her him to write down what he does daily even if only 1 sentence - like i helped with the dishwasher. He has agreed that he will write a letter to B as well. I joined in the cub scout meeting and we were making boats from scouring pads. they worked out well. i was asked about a virtual camp and would i help with it. Not done much else really. DAY 93 - Wednesday 17th June 2020 HaHaHa! this is really funny. I could see my dog doing this, and the amount of medication i have in the house a combination would be lethal! I do like the picture though. And sadly, my dragon isnt in the kitchen he's in the dining room and he's not that s
