Week 19 (May 6 th -12 th ): Service From Amy Johnson Crow -   Military service might be the first thing to come to mind with this week's prompt. However, you don't have to go that route. Any service station owners in the family tree? (I'm raising my hand on that one!) How about someone who served their church, school, or community? For this weeks theme of “ service ” I have decided to use an ancestor that served in the army and died in “ service ” for his county. This person is my 1 st cousin 3times removed James Lackey. Victor has been quite a mystery (and still is). Word from Doreen was that he was born a few years before her, so about 1922-24, he was in the Royal Navy and died at sea in the 1940’s. It is not known whether he is a “Bland” (supposed Mother’s maiden name) or a Thompson (supposed Fathers na...
