coronavirus (covid-19, CV19) we will survive this (or die trying to....) week 20

Week 20 of this lock-down and the start of the school holidays Tuesday 28th July 2020 - Today we have received good news, K has been offered a place on the Eurojam international youth camp taking place in Poland next year. Now we just have to raise the money for him to be able to go (I don't have a spare £1500!) i'm also only £74 off my 2nd target with Oriflame and have just over a week until the new catalogue is out, i'm hoping that i can achieve it. The weather doesnt know if its wet or dry - i had put the washing on the line as dry and about 45mins later i was outside bringing it in as it was raining, and about 10mins later it was sunny again FGS! K is getting really bad headaches and it's moving to his eye as well, so not good, can't get hold of Docs either. I need to catch up with the fmily history weekly stories as i'm about 4 weeks behind now, BUT they are going to be boring as i cant add any photos to them due to loosing them all! (I do have originals i

As we have "officially" finished shielding i won't be posting a big daily post like i have done, but i will add things that have gone on until the end of the summer holidays as we will still be in a sort of lock-down. So lets do a little recap of the past 18weeks of madness: Just a few images that sum up how life has been for me and probably most of the UK! Tuesday 21st July - nothing new to report here, we are all still alive, a little bit more mad than we were 18weeks ago, the kids seem to have become ncoturnal, well not B, hes still up early like a cockoos fart!!!  Wednesday 22nd July  - went and got B some new trainers as his were too small and they were buy 1 get 1 free, YES GET IN! i like deals like this. I also got myself a new pair of slippers, little things! I spent the day re-fixing a piece of wood to the wall to re-fix a curtain pole, this also meant i had to re-plaster part of wall, got covered in said plaster, got dust everywhere and various glues and stuff

Yep definately did! DAY 120 - Tuesday 14th July 2020 HAHA, i bet no-one can guess what they are getting? I had to buy a multi-pack extra to be able to do this. So no it's not classed as hoarding really, it's buying in advance!  Do you have shares in the world's most wanted currency? If you don't you may have in less than 6months. You can thank me later! Most shops and things are now starting to re-open, and people have qued for hours just to get their hair and nails done. Do they have nothing better to do? I'm guessing not! I certainly am glad im not a girly girl that does hair, make-up n nails all the time. I still have a tent in the middle of my lounge, B has now moved his teddies into it, his quilt and sleeping bag and his laptop! He has said its his new house! I can see it being here for the next few weeks as it's the school holidays from the end of the week. DAY 121 - Wednesday 15th JUly 2020 And this is them normally. HAHA! and not mentioning those that ha

New Business Venture

Image
Hi all, I want to tell you all about my brand new business venture that i have become involved with.  For a while now i have been using products from a company called "oriflame", they are Sweedish. I will be honest i wasn't sure about trying them to start with as i have sensitive skin and react to most things, make-up, perfumes, bubble bath etc and i tend to stick with brands and products that i know i dont react to.  I asked many questions about the products before i ordered as i wanted to make sure that i wouldn't react and if i did what did i do. I was assured that all products are natural and not tested on animals, the company research the best things to go in the products. So far i haven't reacted to any of the products i have used. The person i was buying from suggested that i take the plunge and become a partner myself. I was a bit hesitant about doing it, i went along to an online information event and the guy who was doing it i sort of know - i worked for

52 ancestors Week 28 (July 8-14): Multiple

Image
From Amy Johnson-Crow - Twins? Triplets? Multiple marriages? Numerous nicknames? How are you going to interpret "multiple"? “ Multiple ” could be taken as many things I would guess, but I have gone with a “ multiple ” birth and death of my great uncles. My Great Grandparents Gardiner Lackey and Margaret Ann Liddle had a set of male twins born. I didn’t know much about them (and I still don’t to be fair). But I ordered their birth and death certificates to try and get some more information on them. The twins were called Robert and Thomas Lackey. From the information found online their births and deaths were in the same quarter, meaning they were a max of 3months old when they died. In a way I couldn’t wait for the certificates to arrive so I could get the information, but in another as they were so young I wasn’t sure I wanted to find out the cause of death etc. The birth certificates arrived and I was quite surprised at how much information was actually on these certifi

Week 27 (July 1-7): Solo

From Amy Johnson Crow - When I wrote this theme, I though first of an ancestor who was an only child, but don't limit yourself there! How about someone on a line where you feel like you're the only one researching them? (I have a couple of those!) Any musicians or singers in the family tree? How about a "solo" name, like Singletary? This weeks theme has been hard for me to do. I know that there are “ solo ” people in the tree BUT I can’t think of who they are or who they are linked to so I can’t write about any of them. So, I decided to go anti-“ solo ”. Although I do like to work on the tree on my own and do my own thing and most of the time I do work “ solo ” on it. I am more than happy to share info with others researching the same people as I am. I am also happy to ask others for help if I am struggling to find someone or something.

DAY 113 - Tuesday 7th July 2020     This has gone on for long enough now, BUT it's far from over! Parts of the UK have now set their own local lock-down due to more outbreaks of CV19, and many other countries have gone back into lockdown due to a 2nd wave. This is going to happen in the UK i'm sure of it. Digging a tunnel does seem like a good idea, but not sure where i would dig it to, and i think it will take me ages to do. I have today told the company to issue me a FULL refund as they still havent sent my order and have said they will send confirmation IF the order is dispatched (not when). Other people have had similar issues and posted on line that tracking numbers are not valid, can't get hold of anyone to sort it, parcels lost etc. I have placed the order with another company, so fingers crossed it arrives. Considering we have been home for 113days we are all still doing ok. I can't say the same for o
