Covid-19 (Coronavirus/CV) We will survive this.....(or die trying to) DAY 18 Friday 3rd April

This post is on a more serious note than most of my entries linked to CV19 have been. A friend posted something similar yesterday and it sparked within me to do the same (as it will be interesting reading for others in the future.)

Just so I NEVER forget..... April 3rd, 2020 (Coronavirus, Covid19, CV19) Pandemic

  1. Washing hands (a basic thing learnt as a child) has had to be drummed into most people as they weren't doing it.
  2. Fuel price was £1.02 or lower in some places.
  3. All Schools were closed* and parents became the children's teacher. *(except for the children of key workers and then only a few schools were open for children from a mixture of local schools).
  4. Self-distancing measures were on the rise.
  5. Tape markers were placed on the floors at grocery stores and other places to help distance shoppers (6ft/2m) from each other.
  6. A limited number of people allowed inside stores at any time, therefore, lineups outside the shops doors at distance of 1-2m.
  7. Non-essential shops, pubs and businesses mandated closed (including Mcdonalds).

  16. No masses or religious services, churches have been closed, services are all being remotely done via the internet.
  17. It started as no gatherings of 50 or more, then it was lowered to 20 or more, now its 2 or more people (except if they live with you) and the police can disperse all gatherings of people.

  20. There is a shortage of face masks, gowns, gloves and other PPE for front-line workers.
  21. The testing for CV19 is sparse and they can’t keep up with it, but have said they plan to do so many a day.
  22. There is a shortage of ventilators for the critically ill. People who are predicted to die are being taken off them and the ventilator is given to someone else!
  23. Apparently in Italy they are not even trying to save all people, they are letting the elderly die.
  24. Panic buying by most of the UK population has set in and there  is no toilet paper, no disinfecting supplies, no paper towels, no laundry soap, no hand sanitiser , no bars of soap, no bread, no eggs, no milk, no pasta, no rice, no baby food and milk.  The Shelves are bare in most shops.
  25. Manufacturers, distilleries and other businesses have switched their lines to help make visors, face masks, hand sanitiser and PPE for key workers.
  26. The Government has closed the borders to all non-essential travel. Everyone must stay in their homes.
  27. Fines have been established for breaking the rules, starting at £35 and increasing for every breach of them and can be issued by the police.
  28. Stadiums and recreation facilities are being opened up as “field hospitals” for the overflow of Covid-19 patients.  This includes the NHS Nightingale hospital in London built in 9 days to house 4,000 covid19 patients (and there are various others around the UK).
  29. There is a press conference daily from the Prime minister or one of his team about the virus and current situation.
  30. Both the Prime minister and the health secretary are in isolation after showing symptoms and being tested positive for cv19!
  31. Prince Charles, the future king of the UK was tested positive for CV19.
  32. The daily news is just about coronavirus, and nothing else. It is mainly linked to the death toll not the survival rates. Details on new cases, recoveries, and deaths. The figures soaring and the UK has more deaths now than China did.
  33. The Government are urging people to stay at home except for exercise, shopping for food and medications.
  34. People are wearing face masks and gloves outside as a precaution.
  35. People are doing "musical statues and dodging" each other round shop floors .
  36. Essential service/key workers are terrified to go to work due to lack of PPE and the risk of getting CV19.
  37. Medical workers are afraid to go home to their families encase they have been in contact with someone with CV19 and they pass it on.

  40. There are no aeroplanes in the sky.
  41. There are few boats/ships sailing (only those who fish for a living and are providing essential foods).
  42. Except for key workers (and those who physically can’t work from home), all jobs have been moved to home-working.
  43. Only urgent medical/health appointments are being considered and this applies to pets as well as humans.
  44. If ANYONE in your household has ANY symptoms of cv19 everyone has to stay at home for 2 weeks.

  49. Families have been asked to put rainbows in their windows to brighten up peoples walks, (this also was linked to the NHS) and like-wise teddy bears have been asked to be put in windows for children on walks to see.
  50. There was a UK wide cheer and clap for the NHS and care workers on Thursday evenings.
  51. School and college exams were cancelled and the students would be graded by teachers linked to strict guidelines from the exam boards, previous test grades and predicted grades.
  52.  Pollution seems to have improved the world over as does the air condition.
  53. Animals are re-appearing in places they haven't been for years.
  54. Postal and delivery drivers are now delivering in the style of a 1990's game called "knock door run".
  55. We have been asked to clean door bells, knockers and letter boxes and dustbin handles to try and reduce the risk of spread.
  56. This virus has proved that shop workers, care workers and binmen are far more important than high-paid footballers and politicians! (Will this change their wages though???)
  57. Food banks are being used more than ever, but they are also receiving more donations than usual from big companies.
  58. Hair and beauty salons are all closed so many people will be walking around with faded tans, broken nails, hair root growth, no eyelashes etc
  59. Our grandparents were called to fight in world wars, we are being asked to stay at home (eat and watch tv), i'm sure we can do it.
This is the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19, CV19) Pandemic, declared February 2020 thank to some idiot in Wuhan China thinking it was a good idea to eat a raw/live bat!

Be thankful. Be grateful. Be kind to each other - love one another - support everyone. FROM A DISTANCE. We are all one! If we work together and do as advised we will survive this!
